Copytrack.com – Copyright Hero… or Villain?

It’s been a while since I posted anything, especially about the site (copytrack.com) that motivated me to do something with my domain, despite being focused on solving a traffic problem with my sites, as outlined in the previous post.  This is the post where things start to percolate.

During my absence, I had people contact me about their own problems with the company.  If you have emailed me and I have not responded, a response will come soon.  A form will be up soon so people can share their experiences.   To those who gave me the requested info, I will add it to my database and make it publicly available. I have still been collecting false claims from Copytrack.  I have not added it because I want to confirm claims before adding them, and there is a lot to go through.

Please visit this link if you have a claim(s) to share.

For now, it will require a Google account since I am lazy and use Google Forms.  Otherwise, you can still contact me.

What I am looking for.  Required unless noted otherwise.

  • Case number (optional)
  • Past Usage Fee
  • Yearly Fee
  • Is the claim resolved?
  • Did you pay?
  • Who does Copytrack say the image belongs to?
  • The date they sent the claim.
  • URL of the image (required if you paid)
  • Do you have rights to the image?
  • Provide a brief description of your experience.
  • URL if you shared your experience (optional)

If you want to hear my random thoughts on the subject, you can watch this:

As for my own case, I have heard nothing back from Copytrack.com.   I assume they moved their claim against me to collections since they have not stated it was closed.  The last of which was to ask them to verify ownership of an image they do not own.
